Bhupat so notorious a dacoit he was so terrific a band he had that the very utterance of his name could strike panic in the hearts of the people living in the kingdom of Ramraj. with all the might king Ramraj could not stop the menace for it was romoured that king Thribhuvan a neighbour and an enemy of Ramraj was helping the bandits by taking share in the looted riches. So the only way out to restore peace was to change Thribhuvan's mind. To know the truth and to seek friendship with king Thribhuvan, prince Jayachandra started alone inspite of his father Ramraj's warning not to go. None to accompany the prince but his. sword and the blessings of his mother the queen.

On the borders of Thribhuvan's kingdom, bandits attack the prince. But he was saved from them later by Thribhuvan's only daughter Sridevi, who loves him at the very first sight, and her step mother Vimala, the Queen. They invite the handsome hero to their palace and there he meets king Thribhuvan. While they were discussing about the bandits Bhupat's men arrive with the share in the looted riches due to the king This confirms the rumour that the king is in league with Bhupat. Disclosing his identity prince Jayachandra holds Thribhuvan responsible for the terror let loose upon the people. After exchanging hot words prince leaves the palace. Vimala tries to convince Thribhuvan to make peace with king Ramraj and pave the way for putting an end to Bhupat and his band. But all in vain. Thribhuvan does not heat a word from her.

News about prince Jayachandra's arrival at king Thribhuvan reaches Bhupat, Feeling that if left unchecked it may culminate into an alliance of both the kings, meaning of which will be his own end, Bhupat confers with his daughter Ramani and his nephew kireeti. They plan to make a surprise attack on king Thribhuvan's fort. They round up the fort secretly and wait for an opportunity.

Meanwhile to meet the princess Sridevi, Jayachandra along with the queen enters the fort through a secret path. Entering through the same way Bhupat's band attacks and captures Thribhuvan's fort. Taking all as his captives, Bhupat declares himself as the king. As she was in love with him, Ramani Bhupat's daughter rescues prince Jayachandra at the point of death. Keeping the prince in her custody Ramani tries to win his love. At this Kireeti becomes angry for he wanted to marry and make Ramani his own.

On the information of Bhupat's victory Swamy Sadanand Rajguru, makes a plan to get kfng Thribhuvan released. Accordingly he sends his deciples Gajapathy and some others in disguise to Bhupat's court. With his clever tricks Gajapathy gets accepted by Bhupat and Kireeti as their Guru Bhupat decides to kill Thribhuvan in public.

As efforts of Swamy Sadanand and Gajapathy to rescue Thribhuvan at the time of execution fail, Bhupat kills Thribhuvan. And in the scuffle that ensued Swamy Sadanand also dies in the hands of Kireeti. Hearing these news Vimala takes an oath to take revenge.

Bhupat wanted to marry Thribhuvan's daughter Sridevi. But Vimala the queen comes forward to marry Bhupat herself Accordingly if is decided that on the next day their marriage would take place in the court. Sridevi and Gajapathy try to dessuade the queen. But she does not heed their counsel. The next day dawns!

Will Vimala marry Bhupat a bandit?
Can she avenge her husband's death?
Whom will the prince accept? The Princess or the Bandit's daughter!
