Mahesh, Ramesh and Leena are two brothers and sister who get separated from each other in their childhood. Mahesh and Ramesh are staying in the school hostel and young Leena is staying with her parents, Raja and Padma. Years later, Raja's friend Sarvottam of their college days, meet each other. Padma had spurned Sarvottam's love during college days, and had married Raja. In order to take revenge, Sarvottam forces Raja to drink and as soon as Raja is drunk and unconscious, Sarvottam tries to rape Padma. Suddenly Raja regains conciousness and attacks Sarvottam. During the scuffle Sarvottam kills Raja and pins the murder on Padma. Padma is arrested, convicted and imprisoned for fourteen years.

Sarvottam disappears with Leena. During the custody period of Padma, the police looked after little Mahesh and Ramesh. Mahesh has in his possession a photo of Sarvottam taken by his father Raja One day when Mahesh and Ramesh are taken by the police to see Padma in custody, Padma sees the photo and tells her two sons that the man in the photo is the killer of their father Raja. Ramesh and Mahesh take an oath that they would avenge their father's death. In anger Padma tears the photo and one part is taken by Ramesh and the other half by Mahesh who deceives the police and escapes.

Mahesh grows up to be a thief and Ramesh becomes a C.I.D. Inspector whereas Leena under the guidance of gangster Sarvottam enters into criminal activities.
