CH HANNO is scintillating musical melody of two sensitive and innocent souls. The Scenario unfolds itself in the peaceful surroundings of Haryana in a rustic atmosphere. The inhabitants are hard-working and straightforward, full of gaiety and zest for life. Their main source of income is agricultural produce. They are upholders of high moral values for which they can sacrifice their own lives.

Chhanno is a young and mischievious daughter of school teacher in a village. She realizes her adulthood only after falling in love with the young enterprising Balwan , who is the son of the village Sarpanch . Balwan on completing his training in Agriculture, decides to settle down in the same village to help his father & family to cultivate their land with modern techniques and implements .

On the other hand there is this Lambardar and his son Hawa Singh who from time to time threaten Sarpanch and his family to return them the piece of land, which, after the decision of Panchayat, now belongs to Sarpanch. This piece of land was illegally possessed by Lambardar and his son for a long time. This leads to a major dispute between the two families.

During the course of time Chhanno's father, through Hawa Singh learns about Chhanno's growing association with Balwan. He feels too low in status in comparison to Sarpanch's family and tries to dissuade Chhannp. Hawa Singh who had always kept lustful intensions towards Chhanno and once on getting an opportunity even tried to molest her in which he was not successful, takes advantage of this situation and pursues the village master to put an end to this growing relationship between Chhanno and Balwan.

Meanwhile the story takes a turn when Hawa Singh rapes a village girl named Phullo, the closest friend of Chhanno. He escapes scot-free by blaming Fauji, the handicapped elder brother of Balwan. Later on, due to persistent threats of getting exposed, Hawa Singh murders Phullo. Chhanno comes to know the facts and reveals the misdeeds of Hawa Singh in front of the village Panchayat. Hawa Singh on being exposed tries to run away from the scene. Timely efforts of Balwan restrict him to do so, and towards the end Hawa Singh becomes a prey to his own dagger. Lambardar in his agony on losing his son realises and repents for his misdeeds and decides to lead a simple life.

To cap it all, the film ends on a welcome note, when the Sflrpanch, who is always ahead to break all prevailing old rituals, does a unique act by asking the hand of Chhanno for his son Balwan, thus, ending the story in an environment of love and togetherness.
