Generally we have the eternal triangle of Hero, Heroine and Villain, but in 'BIRADARI' you will find yet another traingle that of Rotiwala, Doodhwala and Jootewala. BIRADARI is a the stroy of the residents of a chawl situated amidst skyscrappers.

Though belonging to different religious and sects they shared each other's joy and sorrows. Their's was a small happy 'Biradari', a brotherhood, presided over by the widowed Landlady, 'Malkin' as she was revered and affectionately called. She treated her tenants as members of her family. She could not press them for arrears leaves alone evicting the defaulters. On the contrary she would go out of her way to help them in cash and kind and in the process denying her only daughter Seema, the luxuries she craved for. Mother and daughter always argued over this. One maintaining that lifr is meant for the service of humanity, the other that life is for lliving. Bihari, a building contractor, saw in the chawl a veritable gold mine, if only he could lay his hands on it. His tempting offers were steadfastly registered by the Malkin who was more concerned about the fate of her tenants than the riches offered her. In Seema, Bihari saw the weak link. He bacame a renant of the chawl and spread his web. Innocent Seema was entrapped, lured by the dreams of a luxurious living Bihari placed before her. But Rotiwala, Doodhwala and Jootewala were suspicious of Bihari and his intentions. Seema overplayed and there was a clash between her and Rajan, her lover. Bihari senses this would endanger his plans and at his suggestions Seema began play acting to allay suspicions of Malkin, Rajan and others. But Rotiwala and Doodhwala were not satisfied. The seeming change in Seema beguiled Malkin who felt she could safely leave the building in her hands and transferred the building to Seema's name before setting out on a pilgrimage. Rajan also was called away. Seeing the coast clear ejectment notices on the tenants. Rotiwala wired Malkin who rushed back. But Seema was adamant on selling the Building to Bihari so that she could live a luxurious life.
