What is a man to do if inspite of his millions, he feels insecure and unhappy. What is he to do if inspite of a horde of so called friends, he finds himself the loneliest person in the world or with a bevy of females happening around him all the time, he feels the most unloved person on the face of this earth or any other for that matter. What can he do? How is he to find happiness, REAL happiness, that is?

Asli Naqli is the story of one such youth, who had everything, most of the people dream of but felt lost in nothingness. Life for him was a BIG, RICH, GLAMOROUS Vacuum. He wants to fill this vacuum with something, with anything at all, only so his life may have some name. So that it may seem real... feel REAL.

ANAND is the youth's name. His millions and their incapacity to find contentment for him represent the FAKE values of life and their uselessness.

Unable to bear his condition any longer, Anand steps out to find some reason and meaning for his existence. He gropes for it through the fog of materialism that blinds this world of ours; and finds it, once he is able to see through this fog, in the millions of human beings who though always around him, were so far away from his kind of world that he had never set his eyes upon them. He finds it in RENU- the girl who lives for an ideal and whose selfless love gives him the first rays of hope. He finds it in Mohan- a pauper with the heart of a prince. He finds it in Shanti-Nandu and scores of others like them, who with their labour and simplicity give dignity and purpose to their existence and call it Life. In them Anand finds his own salvation and a road to Real Happiness.

Hand in hand with them he marches long - leaving behind his millions- their temptations and their FAKE glamour.
