"Adhikar" is a story of every father.

"Adhikar" is a story of every mother.

"Adhikar" is a story of every child.

"Adhikar" is a story of every family.

It deals with the problem of husband, wife and child, and shows a child suffers when he is confronted with the egos of his parents. It displays how a husband suffers when the wife deserts him and finally it portrays how a shortsighted wife loses her happiness when she crosses the limits of social ethics and morals of married life.

Vishal and Jyoti are happily settled in life having a six month old child, Lucky. Vishal does everything to make Jyoti happy and she is proud of being his wife. However, fate takes an evil turn casting the shadow of unhappiness and destruction to this otherwise peaceful and happy family. Jyoti's mother creates a rift between the couple. She tempts Jyoti to take up the profession of a singer, which will bring all the wealth at her feet. Jyoti falls a prey to her mother's evil designs and against Vishal's wishes goes ahead to adapt a life of glitter, glamour and glory. Vishal tries hard to convince Jyoti should remain his wife, look after his child and home. This causes the 'spark'... egos clash and the sweet and happy family is shattered.

Vishal takes his child with him and goes far away from any contacts with Jyoti. His sacrifice and love towards his son is supreme. He does his best to bring up his son and there develops a bond of inseparable friendship between the two of them. On the other hand, Jyoti takes her career as a singer and attains the height of fame and popularity coupled with untold wealth and comfort. But alas! this is not everything and the ultimate in her life. She realise that she has lost her real 'wealth', - the love of her husband and child. The name, fame and glory which she has gained is superfluous.

It then dawns upon her that love, affection and devotion towards her husband and child are the richest assets in her life - she finds that she cannot live without her real home - her husband and her son. But it is too late!

Incidentally, Jyoti happens to meet Vishal and Lucky. Their meeting after a long lapse of time is tense - Vishal who has experienced all the ups and downs he had to go through to bring up his loving son does not want to accept his wife.

Does Vishal accept Jyoti? Does Jyoti get back her son? And what part does young Lucky plat to bring about a union between his father and mother is the story of ADHIKAR - the moment of supreme, sacrifice, affection and love.
